Clam Chowder

- 5 (6.5 ounce) cans minced clams (drain before using) shopping list
- 2 tomatoes, diced shopping list
- 1 large potato, chopped up shopping list
- 1 onion, diced shopping list
- 4 slices bacon shopping list
- 8 ounces tomato sauce shopping list
- 1 stalk celery, diced shopping list
- 1 large carrot, grated shopping list
- 2 cups water shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 pinch ground white pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Begin by dicing the bacon. Cook it in a large-sized saucepan with celery and onion until the bacon is crisp and the onion is a slight golden-brown. Make sure to pour off most of the fat.
- Add the 2 cups of water, the clam juice from the cans, along with the thawed tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, salt, and pepper. Simmer this combination for 1 hour.
- Finally, add the clams and the tomato sauce. Simmer, until barely boiling, for 15-20 minutes. Serve hot and enjoy!
