How to make it

  • Put the mince meat, dal, ginger, potatoes ( whole without peeling ) and red chillies in a pot and add water to cover.
  • Cook on high heat so that the water dries up and mince is cooked.
  • Remove and cool. Peel the potatoes and mash while hot.
  • Grind rest of the meat and dal mixture and incorporate the mashed potatoes in it. Mix well.
  • Now roast the garam masala and grind .
  • Mix this masala and salt to the keema potato mixture .
  • Now cut cilantro (coriander leaves), green chillies and onion finely and fill in the kebabs.
  • Shape in form of cutlets and shallow fry.
  • Serve with salad and mint chutney.

    Nice recipe, Imran. I make a similar shami kebab, but I also add roasted anise seed (sounf ) to it. Looking forward to seeing more of your recipes!
