Hoppin John Blackeyes

- 4 slices bacon, diced or 1/4 lb. sliced kielbasa shopping list
- 1 cup onion, diced shopping list
- 1/2 cup green pepper, diced shopping list
- 1 stalk celery, diced shopping list
- 1 can (15.5 oz.) Goya Blackeye peas, undrained shopping list
- 1 packet Goya Sazon without Annatto shopping list
- hot pepper sauce to taste shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- 2 cups cooked rice shopping list
How to make it
- 1. In a saucepan on medium, cook bacon or Kielbasa until browned. Drain excess fat.
- 2. Stir in onion, pepper and celery and cook for 5 minutes until onion is tender.
- 3. Stir in the blackeye peas, saz�n, hot sauce, salt and pepper, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and simmer, uncovered for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally. Serve over rice.
