Ingredients

How to make it

  • Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium high heat.
  • Add onion and garlic; saute 3 minutes or until tender.
  • Add chili powder and next 6 ingredients; bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat; simmer 15 minutes.
  • Ladle chili into individual bowls; garnish with ciantro if desired.

    I just made two batches of this chili...in one of them I added beef to it along with the beans. I also had to add a can of beef broth to both of them..because...with all the peppers in it this chili is HOT HOT HOT!!! Very good with the chipoltes. I am entering the recipe above in a throw down chili cookoff at work. I will make sure to bring some sour cream to add to it..This is some good stuff.

    mm. i'm not even going to attempt to find chipotle peppers over here because it would surely end in frustration and tears but let's have it when i come home!! i'm using up the last of the brown rice and black beans you sent me and the last of the salsa erik brought me today... good thing i'll be home soon!
