Another recipe from my great grandmother, from Denmark. I never had this before, but planning to make this someday.
Ingredients
- 1 c. butter shopping list
- 2 c. sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp. baking soda shopping list
- 1 tsp. ground ginger shopping list
- 1 tsp. cinnamon shopping list
- 1 tsp. nutmeg shopping list
- 1 tsp. cloves shopping list
- 1 tsp. allspice shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 2 eggs, beaten shopping list
- 1 1/2 c. molasses (warmed) shopping list
- 5 c. flour (may need to add a little more to make stiff dough) shopping list
How to make it
- Cream butter and sugar; add beaten eggs and molasses.
- Mix well.
- Add spices and flour.
- Mix well.
- Make into roll about the size of a quarter.
- Chill for 4 hours.
- Slice thin and bake on a greased cookie sheet at 350° for about 10 minutes.
