Festive Wassail Recipe
This is a recipe I make a lot during the winter months, especially around the holidays! My kids ask for it all the time and my in-laws have asked for the recipe! Great for a cold day, curled up on the couch with a good book!

Ingredients
  • 2 quarts apple cider
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 24 whole cloves
  • 4 cups orange juice concentrate
  • 2 cups pineapple juice
  • Additional whole cloves (optional)
  • 9 thick orange slices (optional)

Directions
  1. In a 2-quart sauce pan, stir together apple cider, cinnamon sticks, and 24 whole cloves.
  2. Over medium heat, bring to a boil; reduce heat to low and simmer 5 minutes.
  3. Add orange juice and pineapple juice.
  4. Heat just until heated thru (do not boil)
  5. Meanwhile, push additional cloves into rind of orange slices; set aside
  6. To serve, Strain cider mixture and pour into a warmed pitcher or slow cooker. Place orange slices in slow cooker or one in each heat proof cup, and serve.
