How to make it

  • Butter a 2 qt. rectangular baking dish.
  • In a 3 qt. saucepan, cook potatoes in boiling salted water until tender.
  • Drain and let cool.
  • Preheat oven to 375
  • In the same saucepan over med. heat, saute onion in butter for 10 min. or until tender and golden.
  • Stir in flour and pepper, then broth.
  • Stirring, bring to a boil and boil for 1 min. Remove from heat.
  • Whisk in spicy brown mustard and horseradish.
  • Slice potatoes 1/2" thick.
  • Layer in baking dish.
  • Cover potatoes with sauce and sprinkle with bread crumbs.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
