How to make it

  • cook meat, onion and garlic. drain excess grease
  • stir in tomato ingredients, basil, oregano, salt and pepper
  • bring to a boil and reduce heat. Cover and simmer for about 15-20 minutes
  • while sauce is simmering, cook noodles in large pot of water with salt.
  • cook until al dente, drain
  • for filling, combine the egg, ricotta cheese, 1/4 cup of the parm cheese and the parsley
  • layer half the cooked noodles in a casserole dish
  • spread with 1/2 the filling and 1/2 the meat sauce.
  • top with 1/2 the mozz cheese slices and repeat layers
  • sprinkle top with the remaining parm cheese
  • bake at 375 for 30-35 minutes or until top is bubbly and golden brown
