How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees
  • Lightly grease a large baking pan.
  • Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured surface to a large rectangle, about 10 x 14 inches.
  • Spread the pastry with oil leaving a 1/2 inch border. Brush the edges with egg and sprinkle with the cheese.
  • Roll the pastry up tightly like a jely roll, starting from a long edge. Brush the outside of the pastry with the beaten egg.
  • Cut the pastry roll nto thick slices and place on baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the pastry is well risen and golden.
