Dougs Crab Cakes Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 8oz. can crab
  • ¼ tsp. Dry mustard
  • ½ tsp. Worcestershire
  • ¼ cup fine breadcrumbs
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tbs. Onion relish
  • 2 tbs. Mayonnaise or miracle whip
  • 1 tbs. Vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup dry sherry
  • Jalapeno-horseradish sauce

Directions
  1. Mix together all the ingredients except the sherry, oil and Jalapeno-horseradish sauce in a bowl.
  2. Form into small thin patties.
  3. Heat a frying pan and add the oil. Lightly brown the cakes on both sides. Remove the pan from the heat and add the sherry. Put back on heat and continue to brown on both sides until they are a dark brown and the sherry has evaporated.
  4. Serve with a dollop of the jalapeno sauce on top.
  5. Makes 8 – 10 one-bite crab cakes.

I love to try new crab cake recipes - this one sounds fantastic...i like the jalapeno horseradish sauce (do you just mix up some chopped jalapeno peppers with mayo and horseradish?)...great "kick" for the crab cakes!
