I tend to cook by vision as opposed to measurements. Measures are a rough guide for me, but if my vision tells me that there is too much of an ingredient, I do not add all that the recipe calls for.

Yes, it is a twist. The first time I made it was a disaster, but I think that is because of the burghul I used (it was brown burghul). The second time I made it, it was a great success. Of course I tried again because I knew what it was supposed to taste like!!
Moral of the story, if you fail once, try to see what went wrong and how to improve the recipe.
