How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees
  • Quarter and core apples - do not peel
  • Fill first pie crust with 1/2 the apples
  • Pour 1/2 cup of the sugar over the apples
  • Pour half the cranberries into the pie
  • Squeeze half the lemon over the pie
  • Fill with remaning of apples, sugar, cranberries and lemon juice
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon
  • Cut up butter and place throughout the pie (use more butter if want)
  • With other pie crust roll out and fold in half, creating 4 vent slits in the middle
  • Place on top and trim edges if necessary
  • Press pie edges together, pressing together with a fork dipped in warm milk
  • Poke pie for venting
  • With rest of milk pour over top of pie, getting it all damp
  • Sprinkle with sugar
  • Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes
  • Take out, but aluminum foil around edges so don't burn, lower to 350 degrees
  • Bake for 40 minutes
  • Let cool
