How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line thebbottom of an 8 inch square pan with wax paper. grease the paper and the sides of the pan.
  • Add the vinegar to the milk and set aside. It will curdle.
  • In mixing bowl, mix all the dry ingredients....mix well.
  • With mixer, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. beat in egg until well combined.
  • Stir in molasses.
  • Fold in dry ingredients in 4 batches, alternating with curdled milk. Mix only enough to blend.
  • Pour into prepared pan and bake 45-50 minutes.
  • Cut into squares and serve warm with whipped cream.
