- 1 tbsp vinegar shopping list
- 1/4 cup skim milk shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 2 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 2 tsp ginger shopping list
- 1 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 tsp cloves shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter, at room temp shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup molasses shopping list
- whipped cream for topping shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line thebbottom of an 8 inch square pan with wax paper. grease the paper and the sides of the pan.
- Add the vinegar to the milk and set aside. It will curdle.
- In mixing bowl, mix all the dry ingredients....mix well.
- With mixer, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. beat in egg until well combined.
- Stir in molasses.
- Fold in dry ingredients in 4 batches, alternating with curdled milk. Mix only enough to blend.
- Pour into prepared pan and bake 45-50 minutes.
- Cut into squares and serve warm with whipped cream.
