Rabbit In Creamy Sauce Recipe

Rabbit In Creamy Sauce Recipe
In Russia, we used to have this dish every year for New Year. It's especially good when it's chilled in the fridge. Cold or hot, you'll love it: it's simple and delicious

Ingredients
  • 1 rabbit
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 1 lbs sour cream
  • 8-10 cloves of garlic
  • 1 small bunch fresh dill
  • cooking oil

Directions
  1. Cut the rabbit into serving size pieces, practically the same way as you would cut up a chicken (no wings, of course, but you get the idea)
  2. Mix flour, pepper and salt together
  3. Heat the oil in a heavy skillet
  4. Dip rabbit pieces one by one into the flour mix and fry on all sides until pleasantly brown and juices run clear
  5. Toss all the rabbit pieces in soup pot
  6. Cover with boiling hot water and cook over slow heat for about 15-20 minutes
  7. Add in sour cream and minced garlic, cover and cook for another 5-10 minutes
  8. Remove from heat, add in chopped dill weed and stir well.
  9. Let cool or serve warm over mashed potatoes or noodles
