Ingredients
  • 2 15-once cans chicken broth
  • 1 15-once can chopped tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 medium onion,chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 1/2 cups tomato juice
  • 1 medium carrot, chopped
  • 1 medium celery stalk,chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1 15-once can white beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 9-ounce package frozen italian green beans, thawed
  • 2 ounces thin spaghetti, broken in half
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese (optional)

Directions
  1. In a large pot, combine the chicken broth, indrained tomatoes,onion, cabbage, tomato juice, carrot, celery, basil, garlic powder, and water. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Cover, and simmer for 20 minutes. Stir in the white beans, green beans, and spaghetti. Bring to a boil again; reduce heat. Cover, and simmer for about 10 more minutes. Ladle into soup bowls, and serve hot. Top soup with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
