Ingredients
  • 1 pkg (2-layer size) white cake mix or pudding-included cake mix
  • 1 pkg (3 oz) Jello brand strawberry flavor gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 2 cups thawed Cool Whip

Directions
  1. Prepare cake mix as directed on package, baking in well-greased and floured 13x9-inch pan. Cool cake in pan 15 minutes; then prick with utility fork at 1/2-inch intervals.
  2. Meanwhile, dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add cold water and carefully pour over warm cake. Chill 3-4 hours.
  3. Top with whipped topping. Cut into squares and garnish with strawberries, if desired.
