One Bowl Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
  • 6 squares semi sweet baking chocolate
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour, divided
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Directions
  1. Microwave chocolate and butter in large microwaveable bowl on high for 2 minutes or until butter is melted
  2. Stir until chocolate is completely melted
  3. Stir in sugar until well blended
  4. Add eggs, 1 at a time
  5. Beat with electric mixer on low speed until well blended fter each addition
  6. Stir in vanilla
  7. Add 1/2 cup flour, baking soda and salt; mix well
  8. Add remaining 2 cups flour alternately with water
  9. Beat until well blended after each addition
  10. Pour evenly into 2 greased and floured 9 inch round cake pans
  11. Bake at 350F for 35 minutes or until toothpick insterted in centers comes out clean
  12. Cool for 10 minutes
  13. Remove from pans
  14. Cool completely on wire racks
  15. Fill and frost with One Bowl Chocolate Frosting
