How to make it

  • In small saucepan over low heat, melt butter
  • Add garlic and thyme
  • Whisk in flour, keep whiskinga minue or so as it forms a thick paste
  • Keep whisking as you drizzle in the warmed milk, whisk until there are no lumps
  • Add bay leaf and turn heat to very low
  • Cook, stirring frequently, about 5-8 minutes
  • Remove from heat and stir in salt and white pepper
