Garlic-herb Bechamel Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1 1/2 tsbp. flour
  • 1 1/4 cup warmed milk (warm in micro.)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • few dashes of white pepper

Directions
  1. In small saucepan over low heat, melt butter
  2. Add garlic and thyme
  3. Whisk in flour, keep whiskinga minue or so as it forms a thick paste
  4. Keep whisking as you drizzle in the warmed milk, whisk until there are no lumps
  5. Add bay leaf and turn heat to very low
  6. Cook, stirring frequently, about 5-8 minutes
  7. Remove from heat and stir in salt and white pepper
