How to make it

  • Cover potatoes with water in a Dutch oven and cook until soft.
  • Mash part of the potatoes with a potato masher.
  • Add milk until you have the pot about 3/4 full.
  • Add butter, salt and pepper to taste, and bring to a gentle boil.
  • Cut biscuits into fourths and drop into the broth, stir well.
  • Reduce heat to a simmer.
  • Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
