Camp Stew Recipe

Camp Stew Recipe
This is great on a cold winter night. Mom and Dad created this recipe back in the 50's. Great with corn bread or crusty garlic bread, salad or cole slaw.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • Little bit of olive oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 T. chopped garlic
  • 1 large can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 large can of tomato sauce
  • 2 cans of whole kernal corn
  • 3 T. Worcestershire sauce (or more)
  • 5-6 potatoes (medium size)
  • salt and pepper
  • dash of red pepper, if desired

Directions
  1. Peel and dice potatoes for boiling, boil until almost tender, not falling apart.
  2. Mash with potato masher.
  3. While potatoes are boiling, brown meat in oil, add onions and garlic.
  4. Add tomatoes, corn and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Add potatoes and mix well.
  6. Heat well and eat, or put in the crock pot for later. Do not heat on high, potatoes will make it scorch.
  7. This recipe is flexible, you can add more tomatoes or more corn, even more potatoes if desired. You can use one can of yellow corn and one of white corn for color if you want to.
