This is very tasty and I like it with apples.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup ( 1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 14-oz. package caramels
  • 1/4 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. rum extract (or use 1 Tbsp. rum)
  • cut- up fresh fruit, pretzels (or use on pound cakes), for dipping

Directions
  1. Melt the butter and caramels in a 2-quart saucepan over low heat,
  2. stirring occasionally, until caramels are melted, about 12 to 15 minutes.
  3. Stir in pecans, milk and rum extract; mix vigorously to incorporate.
  4. Serve warm with fruit, prezels or pound cake.
  5. makes 1 1/2 cups
