From Taste of Home. I've tasted many versions of this recipe but this is my favorite.

Ingredients
  • Crust:
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 3/4 cup butter-melted
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • Filling:
  • 2 cups whipped topping
  • 1 8oz package cream cheese-softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Topping:
  • 2 3oz packages strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 16oz packages frozen sweetened sliced strawberries-thawed
  • Additional whipped topping-optional

Directions
  1. Crust:
  2. In a bowl,combine pretzel,butter,and sugar.
  3. Press in ungreased 9" x 13" x 2" baking dish.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
  5. Cool completely.
  6. Filling:
  7. In small mixing bowl,beat whipped topping,cream cheese,and sugar until smooth.
  8. Spread over crust.
  9. Refrigerated until chilled.
  10. Topping:
  11. In a large bowl,dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
  12. Stir in strawberries with syrup.
  13. Chill until partially set.
  14. Carefully spoon over filling.
  15. Chill 4-6 hours or until firm.
  16. Serve with additional topping if desired.
