Herb Spiced Pumpkin Pie Recipe
HERB SPICED PUMPKIN PIE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Glib Estate in Mesquite, Texas in 1982.

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups canned pumpkin
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1 well beaten egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons ground pecans
  • 1 carton heavy cream
  • 1 ready made piecrust

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 425.
  2. Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl then beat until smooth.
  3. Pour into pie crust and bake 15 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to 350 and continue baking for 35 minutes longer.
  5. Cool on rack and serve warm with whipped cream.
