A good sauce that can be made with or without the hamburger. Try it with pasta and cumin for a chili-like flavor. It is easy to double this recipe and freeze the leftover for an easy meal for the future.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup onions
  • salt* (to brown hamburger in place of oil)
  • 1 lb hamburger
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 16 oz can tomato
  • 2 8oz cans of tomato sauce
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup parsley flakes
  • 1 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • pinch sugar
  • 1//4 tsp thyme
  • 1 bay leaf

Directions
  1. Cook hamburger until brown, drian. Return to pan.
  2. Add remaining ingredients.
  3. Bring to boil, reduce to simmer.
  4. Simmer uncoverd for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
