Spicy Pepper Cookies

- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, soft shopping list
- 3/4 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup white sugar shopping list
- 1 each whole egg, at room temperature shopping list
- 2 tablespoons whole milk (I've used milk subs with perfectly adequate success) shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom shopping list
- 1 1/2teaspoons freshly ground black pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
- Add egg, milk, and vanilla and beat to combine.
- Stir in dry ingredients until dough comes together. Do not overmix, please.
- Chill dough at least 30 minutes before baking.
- Drop or scoop cookies onto silpat- or parchment-lined baking sheet and throw into a a 350ยบ oven.
- Bake until lightly browned around the edges for softer cookies, or until quite golden for crispy cookies.
