Sausage Mushrooms And Peppers In Red Sauce Recipe
My mom invented this dinner one night and it has become a big hit! Best served on dinner rolls as a sandwich,but hubby likes to serve it over pasta noodles.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb. fresh italian sausage
  • 1 lb. fresh mushrooms
  • 2 large green peppers
  • 2 jars of spaghetti sauce
  • 1/4 C.water
  • italian seasoning,oregano and garlic powder to taste
  • black pepper
  • large soft dinner rolls

Directions
  1. Slice sausage into 2" diagonal wedges.
  2. Slice mushrooms and peppers into large chunks.
  3. Saute sausage w/seasoning on medium heat until mostly cooked (a tiny bit pink is ok).
  4. If it gets too dry in the pan,add some water to keep it from sticking,
  5. Add mushrooms and peppers.
  6. Add sauce and slow simmer,approx 35-40 minutes.
  7. Serve on large dinners rolls.
  8. (my goofy dad cuts a hole in the middle of a large rolls,pours it in,then corks it back up)
