This sauce was a staple for me when I was living on my own. It's easy and tasty!

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 med. onion
  • 4-5 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 green pepper
  • 1/2 red pepper (or more or more depending on preference)
  • 1 can whole peeled tomoatoes diced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 2 tbsp oregano (dried or fresh)
  • chili flakes or chopped chili pepper ( to taste)
  • sugar or honey to taste (I usually put 1- 2 tbsp)
  • salt and pepper
  • salt pepper

Directions
  1. - Brown onions and Garlic in oil (use pot or deep pan)
  2. - Add diced red and green peppers, fry until soft
  3. - Add diced tomoatoes and all the liquid from the can
  4. - Add herb and spices
  5. - Simmer for 1/2 hour
  6. - Taste to check for acidity
  7. - if sauce is too acidic add honey or sugar until satisfactory
  8. - Let simmer for another 1/2 hour at least (the more it simmers the better it tastes!
