How to make it

  • Mix Shan Achar Gosht mix (or all the dry ingredients above), garlic paste and lemon juice, set 2/3 aside for filling. Add remaining 1/3 to yogurt for curry sauce later.
  • Wash peppers and pat dry. Slit in two halfway taking care not to cut into two pieces, the stem side should remain intact for filling them. Deseed peppers, fill slighly with the achar gosht/ lemon mixture coating all the way through. Let marinate for at least half hour.
  • Heat oil, add onion and saute lighly, turn the heat to low, add peppers very carefully to the pan, shift pan to coat the peppers with oil. Pour yogurt on top, stir the pan using handles slightly. Turn the heat to medium-low and let simmer for half an hour checking occasionally that the peppers do not burn.
  • Serve with pita or on rice.
