How to make it

  • SAUCE:
  • sauté onions and garlic
  • While this is sautéing add dried basil, oregano, garlic powder, parsley, thyme, rosemary, sea salt, and cracked pepper.
  • After sautéing, add all cans of tomatoes. Mix and bring to a simmer.
  • Next add coarsely chopped basil leaves and diced carrots.
  • For the quartered mushrooms, I sautéed them in butter, cracked pepper and sea salt for a few minutes so that they are still firm. I then added them to the sauce.
  • Lastly add the 2 tbsp of sugar and simmer
  • MEATBALLS:
  • Mix all of ingredients together. I did not put them in a particular order, however I do know that I add the eggs last and then mixed with my hands :).
  • Next I rolled out about 30 1 inch sized (maybe a little bigger) meatballs in my hands.
  • I then browned the meatballs, added them to the sauce and simmered for 1/2 an hour.
  • I think that next time I will add some chiltepins to the meatballs. I love spicy foods and they would give it a nice kick!!
  • Cook spaghetti noodles to your liking. I cook them aldente.
  • Optional :) : Garnish dish with Parmesan and garlic bread.
