How to make it

  • In a large sauce pan, bring brown sugar and water to a boil. Cook and stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine the oats, bran flakes, wheat germ, flour and salt.
  • Stiir oil and vanilla into sugar mixture; pour over oat mixture and toss to coat.
  • Transfer to two 15in x 10in baking pans coated with nonstick cooking spray. Bake at 250 for 1 hour and 15 to 1 hour and 30 or until dry and lightly browned, stirring every 15 mins. Cool completely on wire racks.
  • Store in airtight container.
