BROWNIES A LA MODE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Boyd Estate in Dallas, Texas in 1987.

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 7 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup butter softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup
  • Vanilla ice cream

Directions
  1. Grease a square baking dish and set aside.
  2. Sift together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and salt into large bowl of an electric mixer.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and beat until smooth then pour batter into prepared baking dish.
  4. Heat uncovered in microwave for 6 minutes.
  5. Allow to cool slightly and cut into squares for serving.
  6. Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream on each serving.
