AMAZING BLUE CHEESE BISCUITS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Money Estate in Fort Worth, Texas in 1996.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 450.
  2. Cut shortening into flour, sugar, baking powder, cheese and salt with pastry blender.
  3. Mix until mixture resembles fine crumbs then stir in milk until dough leaves side of bowl.
  4. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and knead lightly 10 times.
  5. Roll or pat 1/2" thick and cut with floured 2-1/2" round cutter.
  6. Place on ungreased cookie sheet about 1" apart and bake 12 minutes.
  7. Immediately remove from cookie sheet.
