How to make it

  • Cook meat in a large dutch oven over medium heat until browned, stirring to crumble.
  • Drain and pat dry with paper towels.
  • Wipe drippings from pan with a paper towel.
  • Return meat to pan.
  • Add remaining ingredients; bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer uncovered at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  • Yield: 3 quarts
  • About 197 calories per 1 ½ cup serving
