Pattis Turkey-Vegetable Chili

- 1 lb. ground turkey shopping list
- 1 ½ Tblsp chili powder shopping list
- 3 cups water shopping list
- ¾ tsp salt shopping list
- ¾ tsp dried oregano shopping list
- ¾ tsp ground cumin shopping list
- ¼ tsp black pepper shopping list
- 2 cups diced zucchini shopping list
- 2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms shopping list
- 1 cup chopped onion shopping list
- ¾ cup thinly sliced carrot shopping list
- 2 (14 oz) cans no-salt whole tomatoes (undrained and chopped) shopping list
- ½ cup chopped green pepper shopping list
- 1 (14 oz) can kidney beans (rinsed) shopping list
- 1/3 cup no-salt tomato paste shopping list
- 1 large clove garlic (minced) shopping list
- 2 Tblsp canned chopped green chilies shopping list
- 2 chopped jalepenos (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- Cook meat in a large dutch oven over medium heat until browned, stirring to crumble.
- Drain and pat dry with paper towels.
- Wipe drippings from pan with a paper towel.
- Return meat to pan.
- Add remaining ingredients; bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer uncovered at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Yield: 3 quarts
- About 197 calories per 1 ½ cup serving
