How to make it

  • Wash squash and cut off both ends.
  • Slice into about 1/4th-inch rounds
  • Place in a pot with the margarine and water.
  • Bring to a boil over a medium heat.
  • Add salt and pepper; lower heat and continue to cook (with lid on) until squash is tender.
  • Taste for salt and pepper and doneness before taking up.
  • Serve with a slotted spoon.
