Caramel Glazed Apple Cake Recipe

How to make it

  • Blend shortening, salt and spices then add sugar gradually and cream well.
  • Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition then add apples and mix well.
  • Sift baking powder and baking soda with flour 3 times.
  • Add flour to cream mixture alternately with water mixing after each addition until smooth.
  • Bake in greased pan at 350 for 45 minutes.
  • Combine shortening, brown sugar, cream, salt and syrup in saucepan and bring to rolling boil.
  • Remove from fire and cool then pour on warm cake and spread evenly.
