How to make it

  • Put all dry ingredients and grated apple into a saucepan.
  • Pour boiling water over it all, until it is just covered, and let it sit for a couple of minutes with the lid on the saucepan, it will absorb some of the water.
  • Add milk of preference.... or water, until the mix is barely covered again.
  • place the saucepan on a high heat and stir until it boils.
  • Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally for a couple of minutes until it thickens up.
  • Serve hot (it will thicken more as it cools) .......I like to pour a bit of cold milk over my serving.
