How to make it

  • Shape meat into 4 patties handling as little as possible.
  • Melt half the butter in a skillet then add onions and sauté over low heat until golden.
  • Add pepper rings and 1/2 cup boiling water then season with salt and pepper.
  • Remove from heat and keep warm.
  • Season meat on both sides and sauté in remaining butter in skillet until desired doneness.
  • Top each patty with the onion mixture and serve over buns.
