How to make it

  • Wrap chicken in foil and bake at 375 for 50 minutes.
  • Cut chicken into bite sized chunks.
  • Grease a shallow pan.
  • Cut tortillas into thin strips.
  • Mix soups, milk, onions, and salsa.
  • Put broth from chicken or water into baking dish.
  • Layer tortilla strips, chicken and soup mixture until all are used ending with soup mixture.
  • Top with grated cheese then allow to refrigerate 25 hours.
  • Bake at 300 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

    This sounds good. And, it seems to be a good way to use up some almost stale corn tortillas! Oh, but is there something special about the 25th hour of refrigeration?
