How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix together cake mix, 1 cup apricot nectar, sugar, oil and eggs.
  • Beat on medium speed for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Pour into prepared 10 inch tube or bundt pan.
  • Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until a wooden pick comes out clean.
  • For the icing: mix together confectioner's sugar, lemon juice and apricot nectar.
  • Stir and spoon over cake while cake is still warm.

    My grandmother made this cake for years. She used a yellow cake mix and made a thicker glaze. Sounds pretty good right now- think I'll make one tonight!

    This is a cake that my Mom made for years without using a recipe. When she passed so did this cake. My daughter asked me to make it for a school function and I did not have the heart to tell her I didn't know how. Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe and helping me to bring some of my Mom into my daughter's life.
