Ingredients
  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 2 cloves garlic,minced
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1(16 oz) can whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1/2 c. dried tart cherries(about 2 oz)
  • 1/4 c.brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp.pepper
  • 1 (5-6lb.) fully cooked ham(rump half or shank portion)
  • 1/4 c.water

Directions
  1. In medium saucepan cook onion and garlic in oil until tender; stir in cranberry sauce,cherries,sugar,1/4c water,vinegar,cinnamon and 1/4 tsp.pepper.
  2. Simmer, uncovered,sturring often until thickened,about 10 min.
  3. Transfer to serving bowl;cover.
  4. Preheat oven to 325F. Place ham on rack in shallow roasting pan.
  5. Insert meat thermometer in the thickest muscle.
  6. Bake until thermometer reaches 135F, about 1 3/4 to 2 1/2 hrs.
  7. Cover with foil and let stand 15 min. before carving.
  8. Temp will rise to 140F during standing.
  9. Warm cranberry chutney,if desired and serve with ham.
