Ham with Cranberry Cherry Chutney

- 1/2 c. chopped onions shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic,minced shopping list
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil shopping list
- 1(16 oz) can whole berry cranberry sauce shopping list
- 1/2 c. dried tart cherries(about 2 oz) shopping list
- 1/4 c.brown sugar shopping list
- 1/4 c. cider vinegar shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 tsp.pepper shopping list
- 1 (5-6lb.) fully cooked ham(rump half or shank portion) shopping list
- 1/4 c.water shopping list
How to make it
- In medium saucepan cook onion and garlic in oil until tender; stir in cranberry sauce,cherries,sugar,1/4c water,vinegar,cinnamon and 1/4 tsp.pepper.
- Simmer, uncovered,sturring often until thickened,about 10 min.
- Transfer to serving bowl;cover.
- Preheat oven to 325F. Place ham on rack in shallow roasting pan.
- Insert meat thermometer in the thickest muscle.
- Bake until thermometer reaches 135F, about 1 3/4 to 2 1/2 hrs.
- Cover with foil and let stand 15 min. before carving.
- Temp will rise to 140F during standing.
- Warm cranberry chutney,if desired and serve with ham.
