MUGHLAI  FISH  CURRY Recipe
this dish puts spicy thick gravy of coconut flavour. Goes prefectly with boiled rice or pilao

Ingredients
  • (1) 1/2kg pomfret fish
  • (2) 1tsp ground fresh ginger
  • (3) 2 tsp chopped coriander leaves
  • (4) 1/4 ground cinamon
  • (5) 3 ground cloves
  • (6) 1/2 coconut
  • (7) 2 big onions
  • (8) 8 garlic flakes
  • (9) 2 tsp ground cuminseeds
  • (10) 170 gms ghee(clarified butter)
  • (11) 1big tomato
  • (12) 1/2tsp turmeric
  • (13) 8 peppercorns
  • (14) 4 green cardamons
  • (15) 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • (16) salt to taste

Directions
  1. (1) clean and wash the fish.
  2. (2) cut into big pieces and fry lightly with salt
  3. (3) grind peppercorns.
  4. (4) make smooth paste of peppercorns, red chilli powder, salt, turmeric and ground spices with little water.
  5. (5) heat clarified butter.
  6. (6) fry chopped onion and garlic with cardamoms until golden brown.
  7. (7) add ground spices paste and ground ginger.
  8. (8) fry for 30 seconds.
  9. (9) add one cup water.
  10. (10) stir until onion is tender.
  11. (11) mix chopped tomatoes and stir until thick.
  12. (12) add 1 1/2 cup of thin coconut juice or coconut milk and fried fish.
  13. (13) cook till gravy is thick.
  14. (14) remove from fire ,and sprinkle chopped coriander leaves on it.
  15. (15) serve hot ,lunch or dinner
