This was my aunts recipe and I make it for special times.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cup wesson oil or crisco
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • 2 big cups thin sliced apples
  • 1 big cup chopped nuts
  • Topping.....
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Directions
  1. Grease and flour a tube pan.
  2. Mix all ingredents together and pour into pan.
  3. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hr.and 20 min.
  4. Turn cake onto plate.
  5. Topping for cake.....
  6. Mix together and cook for 5 min.,after it starts boiling.
  7. Take off the heat and let stand for few minutes.
  8. Then pour over cake while cake is still HOT.
