Hearty Beef Pie

- 1 pound lean ground beef shopping list
- 1 large onion chopped shopping list
- 1 cup chopped celery shopping list
- 1 cup chopped bell peppers shopping list
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 can beef broth shopping list
- 2 teaspoons Dijon style mustard shopping list
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper shopping list
- Crust: shopping list
- 2 sticks butter melted shopping list
- 2 cups whole wheat flour shopping list
- 1 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 cup shredded swiss cheese shopping list
- parsley for garnish shopping list
How to make it
- In a large skillet combine beef, onion, celery and bell pepper.
- Over medium heat cook stirring until vegetables are soft and meat is no longer pink.
- Sprinkle in flour then stir in broth, mustard and lemon juice.
- Bring mixture to a boil then cook until thickened then season with salt and pepper.
- For the crust combine the flours and salt then stir in butter until mixture is crumbly.
- Preheat oven to 425 then press dough into bottom and up sides of rectangular baking dish.
- Sprinkle cheese over the bottom of the crust then spoon meat mixture evenly over cheese.
- Bake pie 30 minutes then transfer to dish and sprinkle with parsley.
- Serve warm.
