How to make it

  • spread the jam over 4 of the trifle sponges.
  • Place the remaining 4 sponges on top of the 4 covered in jam and cut into cubes before diviiding between 4 glasses.
  • Drain the cherries and pour the syrup over the sponges.
  • Scatter the cherries over the sponges saving a few for decoration.
  • melt the chocolate and whisk into the custard. Divide the mixture between the 4 glasses.
  • whip the double cream until it forms soft peaks and drop spoonfuls over the custard.
  • Decorate with the remaining cherries and the flake.
