Black Forest Trifle

- 3 tbsp red cherry jam shopping list
- 8 trifle sponges shopping list
- 425g red or black cherries in syrup shopping list
- 100g dark chocolate shopping list
- 400g custard shopping list
- 150ml 1/2 pt double cream shopping list
- 1 chocolate flake shopping list
How to make it
- spread the jam over 4 of the trifle sponges.
- Place the remaining 4 sponges on top of the 4 covered in jam and cut into cubes before diviiding between 4 glasses.
- Drain the cherries and pour the syrup over the sponges.
- Scatter the cherries over the sponges saving a few for decoration.
- melt the chocolate and whisk into the custard. Divide the mixture between the 4 glasses.
- whip the double cream until it forms soft peaks and drop spoonfuls over the custard.
- Decorate with the remaining cherries and the flake.
