Italian style Beef

- 1 kg beef roast shopping list
- 3 onions shopping list
- 6 rashers bacon shopping list
- 1 cup red wine shopping list
- 1 can diced tomatoes shopping list
- 2 teaspoons curry powder shopping list
- 2 tablespoons mixed herbs shopping list
- 1-2 teaspoons crushed garlic shopping list
- approx 2 cups of water depending on dish size. shopping list
How to make it
- Slice the beef roast into very thin slices
- peel the onions and cut in half and then thinly slice
- cut the rind off the bacon and cut into slices
- place a layer of slcied onions in the base of an ovenproof dish then place a layer of beef over the onion and then 2 rashers of the slcied bacon over that. Repeat the layers til all used up.
- Mix together the wine, tomatoes and herbs and add the water until there looks to be enough to cover everything in the dish.
- Place lid on dish and put into an oven on 180C - 350F
- Cook slowly for between 3-4 hours so the meat is very tender.
- Serve with either a side salad or cooked vegetables. For carbohydrates use pasta or rice as a sidedish.
