Ingredients
  • 3 large onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 3 tbsp catsup
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano, crushed
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
  • hot dogs

Directions
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped onions, tomato sauce, catsup, water, sugar, oregano, salt, garlic salt, and red pepper. On the range top, bring to boiling, reduce heat.
  2. Simmer, covered, about 20 minutes, or until the onions are just tender.
  3. Grill the hotdogs on an uncovered grill, directly over medium-hot coals, for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Turn frequently
  5. Serve hot dogs on buns with the relish.
  6. Store the leftover relish, in a tightly covered container, in the refrigerator for up to two weeks
