Banana Caramel Topping Recipe

This topping was made famous in New Orleans. Guests rave about it!

Ingredients
- 1 jar(121/4oz.) caramel ice cream topping
- 2Tbs lemon juice
- 1/2tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2tsp. grated lemon peel
- 5 medium firm banans,cut into 1/4" slices
- 1tsp. rum extract
Directions
- In a large saucepan,combine the ice cream topping,lemon juice,cinnamon and lemon peel. Cook and stir over medium heat until heated through.
- Just before serving,stir in bananas and extract. Serve over ice cream Makes 31/2 cups.
