How to make it

  • Peel, core and slece pears into 1/2 inch slices
  • Toss pears with the spices.
  • Place pears into a welluttered 8 inch cake pan
  • Pour maple syrup over.
  • Cover with foil and bake in a 350F oven for 15 minutes
  • Combine remaining ingedients to make a batter.
  • Pour over pears and bake 30 minutes longer uncovered.
  • Cool slightly and invert cake onto serving platter to unmold.
  • Serve warm with whipped cream and strands of orange peel
