Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup flour
  • Filling:
  • 4 ounces chopped dates
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup boiling water

Directions
  1. Filling:
  2. Boil filling ingredients in a saucepan until thickened enough to drop by spoonfuls.
  3. Pastry:
  4. Mix butter, cream cheese, and flour for pastry.
  5. Roll out very thin.
  6. Cut out with cookie cutter.
  7. Add a teaspoon of filling to the middle of each one.
  8. Fold over into a triangle and seal edges with fingertips.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees 10 - 12 minutes until lightly browned.

Oh my! This sounds almost like a recipe I had when I was a child. Some kind of cookie with similar ingredients that my older sister in law boiled on the stove for a bit. Will have to try this!--Kn0x--
