Tuna Cakes Recipe
A real quicky if you want something like a burger, but not beef..

Ingredients
  • 1 can (6 oz) tuna packed in water
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup bread or cracker crumbs
  • Seasonings of your choice
  • 1/4 cup very finely diced onions

Directions
  1. Drain tuna.
  2. Mix with remaining ingredients
  3. Shape into two patties and fry small skillet over medium heat with small amount of oil.
  4. Fry for about 3 to 4 minutes on both sides
  5. Serve on bun or alone with a green salad or veggie of your choice.

Alterations


For seasonings, I sometimes use about 1/2 tsp McCormick's Old Bay (yep, a Maryland favorite). Sometimes some Mrs. Dash's Tomatoe/Basil/Garlic blend. Also, have added about 2 Tbsp of "smushed" pimiento to the mix. Don't like onion (can't imagine that) - use finely, finely diced celery and/or green pepper instead.
